Changing lives one woman at a time.

QUICK FACTS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

WWAP is a movement to help transform the lives of women and their children by helping them to stabilize their families through intentional decision-making. We engage women through mentorship, we connect them to resources, and we broaden their experiences through education workshops, seminars, and outings. Our outreach is diverse, covering issues such as soft-skill development, financial and legal literacy, and learning the appreciation of community service.

COTS’ Chief Executive Officer is the Vice President of WWAP. COTS has an impressive history of serving women and their children. We have partnered with COTS to identify families who can participate in WWAP.

The Michigan Women’s Foundation generously acts as our operating partner.  Among the supportive services they provide for us is use of their telephone line and mailing address.

First we are happy to have you.  We have made donating to WWAP easy for everyone.  You can log on to our website, www.warriorwomenagainstpoverty.com and click the “donate” button.  Simply enter your information and your donation will go directly to support activities focused on eradicating intergenerational poverty.

WWAP is as happy to accept small donations, as we are to accept larger donations.  In our mind, no donation is too small.  However, we understand that not everyone has the financial resources to support their favorite organization.  In these cases, we encourage supporting WWAP by applying to become a mentor or volunteering at one of our programs or events.  If you are interested in participating in WWAP, send us an email at info@warriorwomenagainstpoverty.com.

Each young woman in the organization is matched with a mentor who meets with her at-least once per month to build a bond of trust, provide support, offer guidance, and identify needed resources. Our mentors and mentees generally develop a relationship that leads to regular communications.  Additionally, WWAP hosts bi-monthly events encompassing educational workshops, life-skills advancement, and financial literacy training. We provide a supportive network for mentees that assists in their areas of need.
